In accordance with Working Together (2015) the NYSCB maintains a Learning and Improvement Framework. To support our vision and the Learning and Improvement Framework we aim to increase staff morale and confidence, enabling good practice. A key to enabling this is to provide high quality training to staff working with children and young people.
NYSCB courses can be booked through this learning portal (As of the 1st October 2017 Comprehensive Child Protection Pathway Training can be accessed via North Yorkshire Education Services. You can view a list of e-learning courses here and NYSCB face to face based courses here . To gain access to the courses you must first register by clicking the button below. Once registered you can login, view and register on any of our e-learning courses and classroom based courses.
All e-learning courses are free to those who are working with children and young people in North Yorkshire, excluding staff working for a private / for profit organisation, where there will be a charge of £25 + VAT per course. Please note that all academies and independent schools are not considered as profit / for profit organisations and can access the e-learning free of charge. NYSCB e-learning courses are also available to those working with children and young people outside of North Yorkshire for a fixed fee of £25 + VAT per course.
How do I register and access the courses?
NYSCB face to face based courses are available free of charge for all professionals who are working with children and young people in North Yorkshire, although non-attendance fees are applicable. Please see our charging policy for more information by clicking here.
Click the link above to register. As part of the registration process you will create your username and password. As soon as registration is completed you will be able to use your username and password. You will receive a confirmation of these details via email but you do not need to wait for confirmation.
How long will the learning take?
Each course takes approximately 1-3 hours to complete with a short test at the end. If you have passed, then you will be able to print a certificate of completion. You do not have to complete the course in one session or location. However, you should complete within 4 weeks of starting to avoid being charged.
